Spring 2012

13 April 2012

Many many happenings of late,

I hooked up with the Irish Comedy Tour this March making my debut as…a leprechaun.

Yup, I’ve completely lost the plot, and sold out.

Check out the next couple dates with them in Portsmouth, NH, June 1 & 2.

They have a great website with video at www.theirishcomedytour.com/

This June, the Johnny Come Lightlies will have their official Boston release of Grounded Roots at the Burren in Somerville.  Check the gig page for details.

This will also be a joint CD release for Cloggs Gallagher, who passed awayin 1984 after appearing on national TV was a remarkable fiddler, and this CD by his sister Marie (who sings on the CD) is a tribute to a fiddler who was never commercially appreciated.   He will be there in spirit to join the JCL’s & Marie in a tune!  Mark your calendars for this one!!  You can buy the CD’s  by clicking on their images here.

This March was a busy one, and in preparation for the end of the year,Inchicore will be working on new material, a recording, and video.  Stay tuned, or follow me on facebook for post and updates!

Summer Happenings

24 August 2011

Howdy music lover.  Its been a busy summer.  I was barely at home in Union Square Somerville for July & August because I was busy collecting tunes and bad weather on tour in Ireland, Canada, and bumming (read: giging) around New England.  Now I am back in time for Tornadoes, Earthquakes and Hurricanes.

Also been busy in Bluetone studio.  Couple new projects and releases soon.  Then back at the solo stuff.

In the mean time, scroll down and purchase the latest CD put out by the acoustic/light version of the Johnny Come Latelies.  We call it: The Johnny Come Lightlies’ Grounded Roots.

If you want a digital copy, email me and I will trade you for it.

While we are at it.  There is a great festival put on in Union Square celebrating the invention of FLUFF!  I’m on the board of directors of the community organization Union Square Main Streets.  This has grown into a great festival, but comes with significant cost.  Please check out the Kickstarter campaign to help fund the festival as it continues to grow!

If nothing else (c’mon its a dollah!) the video is great!!

Cheers. Damon.

Winter 2011 Update

25 January 2011

This winter finds me working with the following bands:   DUNN, Inchicore, The Cambridge-Somerville All Stars (Josh Lederman), and the Johnny Come Latelies.  Loads of gigs lined up for 2011!

Please friend me on facebook, I regularly post what I am up to (musically).

In the coming weeks, I am in the studio working on a new recording for Inchicore (due out in March), mixing tracks for Christian McNeill’s solo record, mixing a CD of the Johnny Come Lightlies, and continuing to work on my solo record which stalled last year.  Something about the cold weather makes it more bearable working in a windowless recording studio!  If you are interested in my studio, please visit Bluetone Studio online.

Both DUNN & Inchicore are booked into Four Green Fields in Boston.  This new pub opens the first week in February, and we are excited to be involved with the music from the beginning.  Both bands have played FGF’s sister bar in Tampa Florida, and we are welcoming this warm addition to the downtown circuit.

Irish Music downtown is often approached by venues as a tourist attraction, Four Green Fields breaks this mold and has booked some great acts from Ireland, Canada and the States.  They aren’t even open yet!

From the description of the place (two inside stories inside a glass atrium with two bars, a formal stage and a thatched pub!) the place is impressive!

On March 4th I return to the NAC’s Oat Theater in Norwich, CT with Robert Elliott and Chris Murphy joinging me!  This looks like it will sell out again this year, and I am excited to be returning again!  Tickets are available through the NAC.
